Celebrating Julia & Dennis: Three Years of Marriage on the South Coast
One of the greatest joys of being a photographer is being invited into people’s stories, even when you’re supposed to be taking a break yourself.
While enjoying a family holiday in Pennington on the beautiful South Coast, we had the privilege of spending an evening with Julia and Dennis as they celebrated their third wedding anniversary.
From the moment we met, it was clear that these two share something special. There was an ease between them, the kind that comes from years of choosing one another through life’s ordinary and extraordinary moments. Their connection wasn’t found in grand gestures, but in the way they looked at each other, laughed together, and simply enjoyed being in each other’s company.
As we walked along the beach, the late afternoon sun cast a golden glow across the shoreline. The waves rolled in gently, children played in the distance, and for a little while, time seemed to slow down. It felt less like a photoshoot and more like witnessing a chapter of their story unfold naturally.
What struck me most was how intentional they were about celebrating this milestone. Life gets busy. Between work, responsibilities, and the pace of everyday living, it’s easy to move from one year to the next without stopping to reflect. Julia and Dennis chose to pause, to celebrate how far they’ve come, and to create memories they can look back on for years to come.
Three years of marriage may not sound like a major milestone to some, but every anniversary represents countless shared experiences, lessons learned, dreams pursued, and moments that strengthen the foundation of a relationship.
The South Coast provided the perfect backdrop for this celebration. Pennington’s natural beauty, peaceful atmosphere, and endless ocean views reminded us that some of life’s most meaningful moments are often the simplest ones.
As the sun began to set and the sky turned shades of gold and pink, we captured the final images of the evening. Looking through the photographs afterward, I was reminded why I love what I do. Photography isn’t just about taking pictures. It’s about preserving memories, celebrating connections, and telling stories that deserve to be remembered.
Julia and Dennis, thank you for allowing us to be a small part of your anniversary celebration. It was an honour to capture this season of your journey together.
Here’s to many more years of love, laughter, adventure, and making memories together.
